Sustainability is one of the most pressing issues of our time. Experts (e.g., Larry Fink, CEO of BlackRock) and management consultancies (e.g., McKinsey) are warning not only about the ecological consequences of climate change, but also about the socio-economic consequences. In this context, companies are challenged to define KPIs for sustainability. The input-output model presented in this paper supports production management to detect trends of sustainability factors at an early stage in order to derive actions and achieve strategic sustainability goals.

Keywords: Sustainable production; Metrics-based sustainability management; Performance measurement; Production system; Input-output model

Video presentation

Presenting author

Name:

Affiliation:

Email:

Feliz Sohnius

RWTH Aachen University, Germany

f.sohnius@wzl.rwth-aachen.de

by Felix Sohnius, Martin Iglauer, Lars C.
