The diversity of customer needs necessitates individually optimized value provisions that meet individual needs for individual transactions rather than uniform service provision. Hence, a new scheme of contracts is required for these personalized services, which may in turn lead customerÕs strategyness in contracts between individuals. To this end, “Digital courts” (Matsushima and Noda, 2020) can be a solution. A digital court is a smart contract that identifies and punishes agents who break a prior agreement. In terms of game theory, it is proved that a digital court has a unique Bayesian Nash equilibrium, and it is shown to function as a commitment device in one-time contracts. However, digital courts have only been analyzed theoretically and not practically implemented. This research aims to clarify the requirements for implementing a digital court real-world service.

Keywords: Service; Platform business; Sharing economy; Blockchain; Mechanism design

Video presentation

Presenting author

Name:

Affiliation:

Email:

Niiju Mita

The University of Tokyo, Japan

n.mita@css.t.u-tokyo.ac.jp

by Niiju Mita, Nariaki Nishino (Japan) Abstract In recent years, manufacturing industries have been confronted with the shift from product-selling business models to product-service systems like sharing services.
