Abstract<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sustainable development has become a high priority on European level. The efforts to reduce plastic waste and facilitate renewable energy- sources, have made biobased and biodegradable materials essential. As nearly all industries apply a big amount of fossil-based stretch wrap, to prevent shipping damages, a sustainable alternative is required. To develop a sustainable product for this market, the requirements must be evaluated correctly. This paper comprises methods that are used to manage and define adequate requirements in the predevelopment process. A practical methodology is presented deriving characteristics for stretch wrap applications. The validation of the proposed methodology is carried out in industrial environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
