If corrections are made to prevent wrinkles, there is a risk that the process will lead to cracking. This paper presents a fuzzy controller that independently prevents wrinkling during the tube bending process. Furthermore, measurement methods for crack detection are presented, which will also be integrated into a controller in the next step. The aim is to develop a multi-criteria controller that takes into account quality characteristics such as wrinkling, cracking, spring back and profile elongation.

Keywords: Rotary draw bending; In-situ measurement systems;Wwrinkle formation; Crack formation; Process control; Experience knowledge; Setup process; Fuzzy logic

Video presentation

Presenting author

Name:

Affiliation:

Email:

Linda Borchmann

University of Siegen, Germany

linda.borchmann@uni-siegen.de

by Linda Borchmann, Christopher Heftrich, Jonas Knoche, Michael Schiller, Bernd Engel (Germany) Abstract Until now, rotary draw bending processes have been made error-free by adjustment attempts by experienced machine operators.
