Especially in times of global crisis, the innovative business models of PSS can provide a secure and continuous source of revenue. The provision of these business models, however, is often accompanied with more risks than in traditional business models since the provider assumes the responsibilities for e. g. the availability of the technical asset. To cope with these risks, suitable methods and tools are needed. This paper introduces multimethod simulation modeling as a new tool for the risk management of PSS.

Keywords: Product-Service Systems; Risk Management; System Dynamics; Discrete-Event Simulation; Agent-based Modeling

Video presentation

Presenting author

Name:

Affiliation:

Email:

Enes Alp

Ruhr-Universitaet Bochum, Germany

alp@lps.ruhr-uni-bochum.de

by Enes Alp, Dominik Arnold, Michael Herzog, Bernd Kuhlenkoetter (Germany) Abstract Providing solutions in the form of Product-Service Systems (PSS) becomes an established strategy of manufacturing companies for gaining competitive advantages.
