Above all, the car body and its joining technology as the nodal point of variant creation are mainly affected by these influences. Thus, caused by various requirements, changes in the associated joining operations occur which have to be readjusted. However, up to now there is no suitable analytical method to find and describe these critical influences. The resulting method outlines a solution focused on the application field of car body substructure, including a validation within the Mercedes-Benz AG.

Keywords: Body shop, BIW, Substructure, Analytics, Data mining, KDD, Data science, Advanced analytics, Machine learning

Video presentation

Presenting author

Name:

Affiliation:

Email:

Eduard Wagner

Mercedes-Benz AG, Sindelfingen, Germany

eduard.wagner@daimler.com

by Alexander Neb (Germany) Abstract The product development process within the automotive industry is subject to constant fluctuations from internal as well as external influences and demands.
