Despite extensive benefits, conducting VSM manually is becoming inefficient and ineffective due to increasing production and product complexity. Concepts for digitally analyzing value streams have emerged addressing the issues of manual VSM. This paper aims to review existing scientific approaches concerning digitalized VSM in the context of manufacturing. The approaches are examined with regard to their practicality in the industrial context.
