Split CFD-simulation approach for effective quantification of mixed convective heat transfer coefficients on complex machine tool models
Nice work. I observed that machine tool creates a thermal babble around it. So, the proposed separation has sense. The goal of any thermal testing to measure it impact at accuracy of the machine tool. Do you have any accuracy data that show that developed approach increasing machine tool accuracy? Thank you in advance.
Thank you for your comment.
The goal of the current paper/study was to validate the coupled CFD-FE internal simulation model with experimental readings for the temperature fields. Thereby, proving that simplified split simulation model can be used to estimate CHTCs and train the ANNs. Once the results are repeated for further axis configurations, dislplacements will be simulated and validated. This should give us a fair idea about the impact of this method on the accuracy of the machine tool. I expect that the accuracy results will be published soon as a follow-up paper.
