CIRP ICME ’24 Travel Arrangements

Naples can be reached by plane arriving directly at Napoli Capodichino Airport. After landing at the Airport, it will take you about 1.5 hours to reach the island of Ischia.

For visitors arriving at Roma Leonardo da Vinci Airport or Roma Ciampino Airport and wishing to proceed to Naples by train, there is a shuttle train service from Roma Leonardo da Vinci Airport to Roma Termini Railways Station (trains leave every 15 – 20 minutes and the trip lasts 30 minutes; fare € 14.00) and a bus service from Roma Ciampino Aiport to Roma Termini Railways Station (buses leave 20 minutes after landing and the trip lasts 45 minutes; fare € 6.00).

From Roma Termini Railways Station, there are one or two high speed trains every hour for Napoli Centrale Railways Station. The trip by high speed train from Rome to Naples lasts 70 minutes (fare from € 48.00)

The island of Ischia can be easily reached from Naples by hydrofoil leaving from Molo Beverello (Beverello Pier) near the Naples main harbour. The reference destination on the island of Ischia is ISCHIA PORTO, which is the main harbour of the island. The trip by hydrofoil to Ischia Porto lasts about 45 minutes; fare € 23.00. PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION TRANSFER

Molo Beverello can be reached from Napoli Capodichino Airport:

–     by taxi in 20 minutes. In order to pay the standard fare of € 21, you must advice the driver before entering the taxi that you ask for the “TARIFFA  PREDETERMINATA” or “FIXED RATE”.

–     by airport bus ALIBUS (it leaves every 15 – 20 minutes, fare € 5.00); the trip lasts about 30 minutes under normal traffic conditions. The ALIBUS stops first at Napoli Central Train Station and then at Piazza Municipio, near the harbour, where you have to walk a few minutes to Molo Beverello; https://www.anm.it for more information and timetables.

–     our advice: if you have heavy luggage, it is advisable to take a taxi to Molo Beverello in order to avoid the walk from the bus stop to the harbour, especially under the shining sun of July.

For people arriving at Napoli Centrale Railways Station, you can reach Molo Beverello by:

  • City bus or tram to Piazza Municipio: bus n. 151, metro L1; fare € 1.80. Tickets valid for bus and metro can be bought at newspaper kiosks, tobacconist shops and subway stations; https://www.anm.it for more information and timetables.
  • by airport bus ALIBUS (it leaves every 15 – 20 minutes, fare € 5.00); the trip lasts about 20 minutes under normal traffic conditions. The ALIBUS comes form the Napoli Capodichino Airport, stops at Napoli Central Train Station and procedes to Piazza Municipio, near the harbour, where you have to walk a few minutes to Molo Beverello; https://www.anm.it for more information and timetables.
  • by taxi in about 15 minutes under normal traffic conditions. In order to pay the standard fare of € 13.00, you must advice the driver before entering the taxi that you ask for the “TARIFFA  PREDETERMINATA” or “FIXED RATE” 

Once arrived at ISCHIA PORTO harbour, you can reach the CIRP ICME ’24 venue, Hotel Continental Ischia, Via Michele Mazzella 88:

by bus (bus station on the right as you disembark): bus n. 5, 6, CD and C13 – ask the bus driver for the stop at Hotel Continental Ischia; fare € 1.50 (on the bus € 2.00); frequency every 20 minutes; trip duration 10 minutes.

–      by microtaxi: fare € 15; trip duration 5 minutes.

–      on foot: 20 – 25 minutes walk.
