The CIRP ICME Conference Series started in 1998 with the first edition, strongly supported by Dr. M. Eugene Merchant, as an issue of the activities of the CIRP Collaborative Working Group (CWG) on Artificial Intelligence Applications in Manufacturing Engineering within the Scientific-Technical Committee “O” of the International Academy for Production Engineering (CIRP STC “O”).

The 18th edition of the CIRP Conference on Intelligent Computation in Manufacturing Engineering starts on Wednesday, 10 July 2024, with the Opening Session that includes Keynote Presentations and continues until Friday, 12 July 2024, with parallel Technical Sessions with paper presentations and interactive discussions through Q&A.
Particular recognition is due to the International Academy for Production Engineering (CIRP), the main scientific sponsor of the CIRP ICME Conference Series; the University of Naples Federico II for its strong organizational support; and the co-organizer of the event, the Fraunhofer Joint Laboratory of Excellence on Advanced Production Technology (Fh J_LEAPT UniNaples).
