Dear Dr. Mancia, thank you for your interesting presentation!
You presented a work on FSW process of blanks in ABS obtained by additive manufacturing.
Have you planned to carry out Double Side Friction Stir Welding processes to improve the mechanical properties of the joints?

  2. Thank you Prof. Simoncini for your question.
This work is still in the initial stages of the study and the next phase will analyze the mechanical properties of a double side FSWed joint, as it can be noticed that reducing the tool sinking has a better welding surface. In order to overcome the decrease in the mechanical properties of FSWed joint, due to the low sinking of the tool, it has been assumed to carry out an FSW also on the opposite side of blanks.
