  1. Very difficult area for simple cutting model application. Relative good correlation between model and test data. It looks like in the model some component of the force is not accounted for ( may be friction).

    Dear prof. Kushnir, thank you for your interest and for your question/observation. You are right, in fact, we are still working on the model with the intent of improve it. One of the points on which we are working is to find a way to consider variation of friction as a function of thermal load, and in general cutting temperature, generated related to different cutting parameters. A first idea could be the FEM simulation of the process in order to check temperatures, or at least to have a comparison amongst different cutting parameters and cutting modes. Another point on which we are actually focusing is to try to implement the tool deflection due to cutting loads, in order to evaluate the variation of tool effective rake angle. I do not know if I correctly answer to your question, please feel free to ask other questions.
